About Us

Our team consists of Ali Rad and Karolina Szczepaniak. We are both former Performance Coaches of Chinese Olympic Ice Hockey team for Olympics 2021 in Tokyo. Ali is a former international athlete, MSc in Athletic Development and Peak Performance, and NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Karolina is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NSCA Certified Special Population Specialist  (CSPS), Certified Multi-style Yoga Teacher (500HRS), and Nutrition Coach. We offer a personalised exercise programming and diet advisory & planning, which are tailored to you and refined by your individual needs and preferences, both personally in our studio, as well as as an online personal training service. We train people of all athletic backgrounds, from fitness beginners, clients with weight loss goals, special populations like pregnant women, older adults, as well as national and international level athletes. Our clients include World Class Spanish and Italian National Team sailors, Great Britain’s National Sailing Team, European Sprint Kayak athletes, female Nigerian football National Team player, and a world level female Marathon champion.

We’d love to help you to create a healthier, more active life. As a team, we are excellent motivators and we are highly passionate about helping our clients to reach their goals. In our view, every person is an individual and so is our approach. We are absolutely convinced that creating healthy habits for everyday life is far more important and efficient than following generic diet and training plans!

Ali is a former international athlete with extensive strength and conditioning experience. He holds a Master degree in Athletic Development and Peak Performance, gained at the University of Southampton. Furthermore, he has multiple certifications from most respected sport authorities in the world. Ali is NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NSCA Certified Special Populations Specialist (CSPS), SFMA Functional Movement System, among others.

His passion for coaching and Strength & Conditioning brought him all the way to Olympic level. Between 2018 – 2019 he was the Head Performance Coach for female Ice Hockey team China, in Beijing, working for Chinese Olympic Committee. His formal education and personal experience as an athlete helped him to become a coach, who functions successfully in an interdisciplinary environment and who boosts sporting performance of individual athletes and whole teams under his guidance. Ali’s trainees are athletes at both national and international level, World and European champions in number of sports.

His experience yet is not only in the field of professional sport. He has been working as a strength coach and training clients of all ages regardless of their health and fitness status. Ali uses latest science and research to create most individualized, effective and, foremost, safe training programs to help his clients achieve their personal health and fitness goals. His great coaching skills make his clients physically and mentally stronger. Ali trains in person in our private studio, as well as providing online personal training.

Karolina Szczepaniak is fitness enthusiast who turned passion into profession. Her formal education is in Hispanic Linguistics, yet her heart in fitness industry. Karo took her first steps into fitness world during 500HRS Yoga TT Course in India, Dharamshala, where she deepened the knowledge of holistic approach to health and physical activity. After realising that for optimal health, combining strength and flexibility training was crucial, she spent years of study to gain certifications by world-renowned authority on Strength and Conditioning, NSCA. Today she is proudly Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Special Populations Specialist. She gathered professional experience by coaching for Delta Nutrition and Fitness in Southampton, being assistant coach for various sport teams (swimming, field hockey, netball, rugby) of University of Southampton. Further, in 2019 she was the Assistant Performance Coach for female Ice Hockey Team China, in Beijing. She is responsible for Nutritional Coaching and Online Personal Training, specialising in Special Populations Training, pregnant women and older populations among others.

I am 65 years old. Is strength training safe for me and would I gain benefit from it?

Yes, absolutely. Resistance training, in particular, can provide a plethora of physiological and psychological maternal benefits as well as helping to improve functional ability throughout the term. By following proper guidelines, a pregnant women can safely engage in a comprehensive resistance training program.
